Vigilance can reveal authoritatively that Croydon sex predator, Mr Harrison Ndirangu has been found guilty of the rape of a 24 year old woman in Croydon.
According to police report Ndirangu, 23 (29/3/88) from Normanton Road, Croydon grabbed his victim from behind and dragged her into a nearby alleyway before subjecting her to a horrific ordeal.
Vigilance learnt Ndirangu was convicted on 12 April at Croydon Crown Court.
The Met report said the victim had been waiting at the bus stop in Croham Road, Croydon at approx 05.oohrs on 22 October 2010. Whilst standing there Ndirangu grabbed her from behind and dragged her into an alleyway. The young woman was then subjected to a prolonged sexual attack. He then led her to his car and demanded her ‘phone number, stating that they would meet again.
According to the Met report,despite her ordeal, the victim managed to memorise his car registration number which she was able to give to police later that morning.
Vigilance’s Intelligence and Policing Team learnt Ndirangu was subsequently arrested at his home later the same day and charged with the following two offences, for which he was found guilty at trial.

Count 1- Rape contrary to section 1 of the Sexual Offences Act 2003
Count 2 - Assault by penetration contrary to section 2 of the Sexual Offences Act 2003
He was remanded in custody pending sentencing (awaits date)
Detective Inspector Neil Matthews, from the Met’s Sapphire command said:
“This was a calculated attack on a woman going about her everyday business. The victim’s presence of mind in memorising her attacker’s vehicle registration assisted in bringing him to justice. “
Adding: “The public can be reassured that the Metropolitan Police will use all possible means in the investigation of rape and other sexual offences.”
