Vigilance can reveal that Radio Tactics has announced the release of ACESO 5.9, which includes specialist support for the Android 4.0 ‘Ice Cream Sandwich’ operating system. The release also delivers customer specific updates for a number of ACESO configurations, enabling customers to enhance their use of Radio Tactics’ equipment, take advantage of decoders for social media and other popular apps and new generic capabilities that have been added to the ACESO platform.
Smartphone applications are increasingly being used to conduct criminal activity; this trend has been countered in the ACESO V5.9 release with the addition of new application decoding capabilities. Dedicated decoders can now extract and view invaluable data on suspect devices, from user details, app passwords and contact details to instant chat message logs.
A spokesman for Radio Tactics said the Apps include Viber, Heytell, AIM, LinkedIn, IM+, Fring and iMessage for iPhone and BlackBerry’s Ping Chat!, browser bookmarks, installed applications and typed browser histories.
Other enhancements to mobile device capabilities in V.5.9 include support for more than 200 additional popular handsets and strengthened behaviour on appropriate validated handsets which exploit lower level USB protocols that can, in some cases, bypass user defined phone locks.
