SANTA CLARA, Calif.: WhiteHat Security, the Web security company has announced it has been positioned by Gartner, Inc. in the Leaders quadrant of the Magic Quadrant for Application Security Testing.*

According to the Gartner Magic Quadrant report, “Leaders in the AST market provide breadth and depth of application security testing products and services. The more important is the depth and accuracy of testing techniques: Leaders provide static, dynamic and, in most cases, interactive application security testing techniques in their solutions. Leaders should also provide organizations with a choice of delivery models — either as a product, as testing as a service, or both, using a single management console and enterprise-class reporting framework supporting multiple users, groups and roles. Leaders should provide capabilities for testing the next generation of Web and mobile applications.”

This is the first Magic Quadrant report to combine both dynamic and static testing capabilities. Further from the report, “The market for application security testing is changing rapidly. Technology trends, such as mobile applications, advanced Web applications and dynamic languages, are forcing the need to combine dynamic and static testing capabilities, which is reshaping the overall market.”

“Websites are leading attack vectors today, as they are often some of the most profitable channels for attackers,” said Stephanie Fohn, CEO of WhiteHat Security. “As a result, web security is top-of-mind for executives who understand the urgency to protect business assets and corporate reputation in the current landscape. We believe Gartner’s analysis of the Application Security Testing vendor landscape underscores the importance of vulnerability awareness and remediation as a key component of a web security program.”

The WhiteHat Sentinel product portfolio provides accurate, complete and cost-effective website vulnerability management for thousands of production and pre-production websites across more than 650 of the world’s most recognizable brands. It delivers the flexibility, simplicity and manageability that organizations need to control their website security and prevent web attacks.

WhiteHat Sentinel is comprised of SaaS-based solutions that deliver a proven, scalable, and affordable enterprise application security platform, accelerating the identification and remediation of Web application security vulnerabilities. Every Sentinel service includes full vulnerability verification by the industry’s only Threat Research Center (TRC), which verifies the accuracy of all vulnerabilities, virtually eliminating false positives and dramatically simplifying remediation. Sentinel integration with leading Web application firewalls closes the gap between vulnerability detection and remediation with highly targeted virtual patching.

“WhiteHat Security brings trusted technology and expertise, via the Sentinel platform, to organizations to provide visibility into their application security posture so they can better protect against potential attacks,” said Fohn. “We consider our position in the leaders quadrant evidence of our success, and we are proud to be recognized with this honor.”
