Hamburg, Germany: Enterprise cloud provider TeamDrive Systems, a 2012 IT Security Award winner has announced it is integrating document viewing and editing tools from SmartOffice Technologies to create a fully secure office productivity solution called TeamDrive Secure Office. Scheduled for release this spring, TeamDrive Secure Office is believed to be the first technology of its kind to address the corporate and government need for complete, end-to-end encryption when sharing data between multiple users and mobile devices.

With TeamDrive Secure Office, shared documents will never leave the secure environment created by TeamDrive and SmartOffice. Even when workers access and send files on their smartphones, TeamDrive and SmartOffice provide complete end-to-end encryption so the data are never left unsecured. By contrast, with other cloud-based solutions, there are often times when data are transmitted without encryption. For example, the application might send unencrypted data to the cloud provider, and the cloud provider might send unencrypted data to a mobile device. TeamDrive Secure Office will be the first solution of its kind to provide complete end-to-end encryption.

TeamDrive is currently in the process of building secure document viewing and editing tools by integrating Secure Office Software Development Kit (SDK), part of the SmartOffice for Enterprise offering, into TeamDrive’s encrypted cloud synchronization solutions for iPhones, iPads and Android smartphones. Volker Oboda, cofounder and CEO of TeamDrive, commented, “TeamDrive Secure Office is proof of our dedication to providing next-generation security to the cyber world. Complying with European data protection directives is important to our customers, which include government clients as well as major enterprises. Secure Office SDK aids in our enterprise mobility solutions’ ability to comply with these directives.”

TeamDrive’s users will benefit from a wide range of features available via the SmartOffice APIs, which include: user level policy control, multiple operating system and multiple device form factor support, rich viewing and editing functionality, broad file format support including Microsoft® Word, PowerPoint, Excel and Adobe® PDF, and fluid document manipulation with responsive panning and zooming. In addition to an extensive suite of functionality, TeamDrive users will have access to secure printing from wireless devices, export from Office files to Adobe® PDF and add annotations to PDF documents.

Imran Khand, CEO SmartOffice Technologies, said, “We are delighted to be partnering with an award-winning European organization that is equally committed to secure enterprise solutions. SmartOffice’s secure mobile document workflow fits hand-in-hand with TeamDrive’s encrypted, enterprise-grade cloud syncing technology. I look forward to a successful partnership with TeamDrive throughout 2013 and beyond.”

A technology’s ability to prevent the leakage of sensitive data via mobile devices is of high value. Security of corporate data is paramount, and the rapid adoption of Bring Your Own Device (BYOD) policies makes protecting intellectual property a challenge for any organization. To address these challenges, enterprises are increasingly turning to secure cloud solutions like TeamDrive.

TeamDrive Secure Office enhances office productivity and enables the mobile workforce while preventing data leakage from mobile devices. It is especially valuable for large enterprises, government bodies, and other organizations with extremely sensitive data.
