LONDON, UK: SANS Institute is pleased to announce its Platinum Sponsorship of the upcoming Security B-Sides London un-conference taking place on the 24th of April at the Kensington and Chelsea Town Hall. The free but traditionally sold out event has released 500 tickets and includes 30 presentations to bring information security professionals together, encourage discussion and educate.
Launched in mid-2009, Security B-Sides is a community-driven event built for and by information security community members. Security B-Sides events are free community events organised by local individuals, with the express goal of enabling a platform for information dissemination. The 2013 event is supported and sponsored by key organisations including MWR Infosecurity, Nebulas, Tenable network security, KPMG, Cigital, Sensepost, Dradis Professional and 7Elements.
“We are proud to support B-Sides London which has continually evolved into an refreshing and informative insight into the security landscape,” explains James Lyne, a Director of SANS EMEA and Director of Technology Strategy at Sophos, “This year has more presentations across a wider range of areas and breadth of knowledge and interaction amongst the participants makes B-Sides a truly unique event.”
SANS will also be running NetWars allowing B-Sides delegates to compete in a mock environment to test their defensive, analysis, and offensive cyber skills. NetWars competitors will attempt to fight off intruders while trying to take over other target systems and networks. Digital forensics, packet and malware analysis, vulnerability testing, and penetration testing are just some of the skill sets participants will be required to demonstrate along the way.
A number of senior SANS instructors will be attending B-Sides London this year to participate in extensive line up of presentations including:
