Integrated solution leverages Accellion secure container to minimize risks to data, while increasing productivity of business users on-the-go

Palo Alto, CA: Accellion, Inc.: the award-winning pioneer in providing enterprise-class, secure mobile file sharing solutions, has introduced the Accellion Mobile Productivity Suite™ that combines mobile content creation and editing with secure file sync and sharing. This industry first, mobile office productivity suite enables users to securely create, edit, view and share Microsoft® Office documents from iOS devices.

“Business users on-the-go look for solutions that allow them to work outside the office. In the absence of an enterprise-sanctioned tool, they are willing to put corporate data at risk using consumer-grade apps to be productive while mobile,” said Chris Hazelton, research director, mobile and wireless, 451 Research. “The ability to create, edit and share content securely on mobile devices, without the risk of data leaks is paramount to supporting a mobilized workforce.”

The Accellion Mobile Productivity Suite is an integrated solution within the Accellion Mobile App that allows users to securely create, edit, view, and collaborate on Microsoft Word, Excel and PowerPoint files all within Accellion’s secure container on iOS devices. This eliminates the risk of enterprise data leaks from employees opening, editing and sharing documents using unapproved consumer apps.

In addition to supporting creation and editing of Microsoft Office documents the Accellion Mobile App supports secure sharing of photos from a mobile device’s camera roll or library. This is a critical capability for field workers in many industries, including insurance, legal and construction, who take photos as part of their work but are at risk for overlooking security and compliance requirements for storing and sharing images.

“In today’s mobile environment, employees need solutions that enable them to perform their work tasks quickly, efficiently and securely. It is not enough to simply store and view documents and images, the mobile employee needs to create, contribute and collaborate with their coworkers, customers and partners on their mobile devices,” said Yorgen Edholm, CEO of Accellion, Inc. “Accellion is leading the industry in delivering the solutions necessary for enabling mobile productivity while keeping corporate data secure.”
