PHOENIX: BeyondTrust has announced that for the third straight year, it is listed as a Representative Vendor in Gartner’s August 2016 Market Guide for Privileged Access Management.
Gartner is the world’s leading information technology research and advisory company. It offers expert, objective, and rigorous insight reports on virtually all areas of information technology.
For the 2016 Market Guide for Privileged Access Management, Gartner evaluated cyber security solutions and technologies, specifically those for addressing internal and external risk: Privileged Account Management (PAM) and Vulnerability Management (VM).
In the guide, Gartner divides the PAM market into two primary solution groups:
• Privileged Account and Session Management (PASM)
• Privilege Elevation and Delegation Management (PEDM)
BeyondTrust is represented across both solution groups and has a large market share, greater than $30 million.
“Some vendors,” the report states, “are leveraging synergies between privileged command delegation and vulnerability management to detect and prevent unsafe operations on potentially compromised or vulnerable systems. Vulnerability assessments can also be correlated with privileged activity for risk scoring.”
BeyondTrust believes the report emphasizes the following core differentiators:
• Integrating PAM with VM to detect and prevent unsafe operations on potentially compromised or vulnerable systems
• Including integrated application password management and session monitoring along with the core password product
“We feel BeyondTrust delivers complete capability across nearly every key feature assessed in the report,” said Kevin Hickey, CEO of BeyondTrust. “It’s humbling to continue to be identified as a Representative Vendor by Gartner. Humbling, because we know we have earned the trust of thousands of companies in helping them reduce their cyber security risks. This trust keeps us laser-focused on innovating. We seek to enhance every facet of our already powerful solutions.”
