Hamburg: gateprotect, a German IT security specialist within the Rohde & Schwarz company group, was identified in the newly published Magic Quadrant report by the renowned analyst Gartner Inc. as a top choice for the purchase of a unified-threat management (UTM) firewall for small and medium-sized businesses (SMB).
The Gartner Magic Quadrant is one of the most important international studies of the UTM market with a focus on direct customer feedback. gateprotect has now been listed among the 13 international firewall manufacturers in the Quadrant for five consecutive years and is the only German company featured.
In their current report the Gartner experts gave particular praise to the dependably high performance values of the gateprotect UTM firewall and to the graphical management interface. Note was also made of the personal, highly responsive customer support and the provision of a security system with a no-backdoor policy for external readers.
The analysts concluded with a buy recommendation of the gateprotect UTM security solution.
“We are pleased to have had our position as a leading provider of UTM firewalls in the SMB market confirmed. Since the Gartner report draws on both the know-how of the analysts and international customer feedback in making its assessments, our inclusion in the Quadrant underlines the innovativeness of our products and our position in the firewall market,” says Jürgen Carstens, CEO of gateprotect GmbH.
Traditionally, gateprotect has a broad customer base in medium-sized businesses. “With the ease of use of our UTM solutions we are ensuring that smaller business customers too, with fewer IT resources, will be able to protect their networks and business data effectively from the consequences of cyberattacks,” says Christoph Becker, CTO of gateprotect GmbH. “Our entire IT security research and development activity takes place in Germany. Thus gateprotect is subject to strict German data protection law and has further undertaken not to build any hidden entrances into its firewalls. This combination makes our UTM firewall products absolutely unique.”
This fall gateprotect will present the latest version of its UTM and next-generation firewall solutions at a number of international trade fairs. These include it-sa in Nuremberg (October 6-8), IT& Business in Stuttgart (September 29 - October 1) and GITEX in Dubai (October 18-22). The gateprotect next-generation firewall Network Protector for protecting complex IT networks of critical infrastructure will also be presented, for example, at the European Utility Week, Vienna (November 3-5, 2015).
