UK: Peplink, a leader in developing internet load balancing and VPN bonding solutions, has announced an update to its software in response to the growing size of customer deployments to help reduce management complexity and improve efficiency.
Peplink has added a Multi-Site SpeedFusion Profile function that allows PepVPN / SpeedFusion connections with thousands of remote sites using the same ID and pre-shared key. Without complex configuration changes and with just a few clicks, administrators can quickly reconfigure multiple sites, for example, to securely update firmware or change settings for a group of devices.
To enhance security, the PepVPN software devices on the same Layer 2 PepVPN profile can now be made invisible to each other. This allows each device to see only itself and headquarters which reduces the risk of piggy back attacks.
Peplink has also added ‘Configurable Traffic Direction’ which allows organisations to exercise more granular control over how connections are utilised. SpeedFusion can now assign any link in a tunnel to be upload only, download only, or both.
“The size of the typical Peplink installation is growing especially as the cost, performance and reliability of mobile networks improve,” says Martin Langmaid, Technology Evangelist for Peplink, “The recent update to our software is based on customer feedback and an ethos that believes in continually software improvement to help solve real world problems.”
Peplink Routers and Access Points allow Ethernet, Satellite, DSL, Wi-Fi, 3G and 4G networks to be bonded together forming a single aggregated resilient link to increase bandwidth, enhance Internet reliability, and reduce costs. The portfolio also includes a number of innovative cloud based management & monitoring tools. Peplink has established distribution agreements and a network of partners serving flagship customers including first responders, logistics and construction companies. Peplink technology also forms a critical component of a number of innovative projects within mobility and education.
