Vislink Mantis MSAT to be showcased at Milipol 2012.
Milipol Qatar – the region’s biggest trade exhibition dedicated to internal State security, today, opens wide its doors to welcome exhibitors and visitors alike to the 2012 edition of the earth-shaking event at the Doha Exhibition Centre, the ‘9th International Exhibition of Internal State Security’ and it will last for two days, 8th-10th of October.
A spokesperson for the organisers of the big event said Milipol Qatar, which he said is co-organised by the Ministry of Interior of Qatar and the France based Milipol organisation since 1996, welcomes every two years, industry professionals from the Middle East,Near East and Asia.
This leading international event, Milipol Qatar, he reiterated is the technological showcase for innovative products and services in the public and industrial security sector worldwide, and for companies from around the world wishing to develop their business in and around the Middle East.
It was reported that the exhibition in 2010 attracted more than 5,500 visitors – from 61 countries – to the stands of 222 exhibitors from all over the world. Participating exhibitors for the event in October are still being finalised – and new, interested parties being contacted on an ongoing basis – but four main themes have been established as being particularly relevant at this time, and these will form the basis of the focus of Milipol Qatar 2012.
According to the organisers these themes include:
- Protection of Industrial and sensitive sites,
- Law enforcement and crowd management,
- Border control and management,
- And the ongoing efforts in counter-terrorism.
Vigilance learnt authoritatively that Milipol Qatar 2010 had an extremely high level of exhibitor satisfaction with 84% of exhibitors promising they would participate in this year’s edition.
The organisers disclosed that the reason the exhibitors were so satisfied was because Milipol Qatar was able to attract the right calibre of delegates to this event. It was also gathered that in the 2010 edition 82% of visitors had a role in the purchasing process of their companies, which is the sort of figure that would excite any exhibitor.
The same survey found that as for the delegates themselves, just under 90% said they were satisfied with their 2010 visit and the same percentage intends to return to Milipol Qatar 2012 this October.
Development historians said Qatar has a huge infrastructure development programme going on right now and the economy is said to be booming. Up to $75 billion it was gathered had been earmarked for new infrastructure, public facilities, sports facilities – the 2022 World Cup, inclusive – communications and transportation. Undoubtedly, all of these have security-related requirements.
In welcoming members of the global security community to the State of Qatar, His Excellency Abdulla Bin Nasser Bin Khalifa Al Thani, Minister of State for Internal Affairs and member of the Council of Ministers, said: “It gives me a great pleasure to invite all who work in the security industry around the world to attend and participate in Milipol Qatar Exhibition 2012, as well as all the specialised staff, decision makers and those who share the interest in the security field to visit the exhibition and to take benefits of what it presents. Wishing all of you a fruitful participation and an enjoyable stay.
I warmly welcome all of you to your second country Qatar.”
Vigilance’s Exhibition team gathered that Internal State and private security opportunities exist in Qatar, as is evident, but they also exist across the Middle East as a whole, where the market continues to grow strongly. For these reasons –and many more – Milipol Qatar 2012 is going to prove the most productive and successful event of its type anywhere in the region.
