Infrastructure as a Service provider Databarracks has been shortlisted for ‘Cloud Provider of the Year’ in the annual UK IT Industry Awards 2013.

The awards, spanning over 25 categories, set out to highlight and celebrate individuals, projects, organisations and technologies that have excelled within the IT industry over the past 12 months.

With over 1,300 guests in attendance, the awards bring together the industry's leading players to celebrate the successes of the past year. Databarracks are attending the gala ceremony, taking place on Wednesday 13th November at the Battersea Park Events Arena in London.

Peter Groucutt, Managing Director of Databarracks said: “At Databarracks we have a proven track record in delivering secure and reliable Disaster Recovery, Backup and Infrastructure cloud services. We pride ourselves on providing enterprise standard security, compliance and infrastructure, which allows our customers to focus on what’s really important to them.

Mr Groucutt added: “Being shortlisted for Cloud Provider of the Year is a testament to our achievements and the hard work of our team over the last year. Having started 10 years ago as one of the UK’s first true providers of online backup, we have since evolved to offer both DRaaS and IaaS, without forgetting what was most important - our first-class, personalised support.”

David Clarke MBE, Group Chief Executive Officer of the Institute said: : “As the Chartered Institute for IT I’d like to congratulate this year’s finalists. They showcase not only the innovation and the professionalism of those working in IT, but also demonstrate the importance of IT in delivering business and social benefit.”
