Leading fibre optic security systems company, Future Fibre Technologies, has been named the Australian Exporter of the Year and has won the Small to Medium Manufacturer Award at the 2010 Australian Export Awards ceremony.

The National Awards follow the company winning the Victorian Export Awards earlier this year.

Future Fibre Technologies (FFT) is a world leading designer and manufacturer of fibre optic intrusion detection systems which are used to protect the perimeters of sensitive sites including military bases, airports, petrochemical plants and refineries all over the world.

The company designs and manufactures fibre optic systems which provide advanced intrusion detection capability to fences, underground pipelines and cables. Its patented technology can readily interface with a broad range of software, including CCTV systems, gates, plus a broad range of external devices and systems.

CEO, Rob Broomfield, said he was absolutely thrilled with the Award and the recognition of FFT’s international achievements.

“The Award recognizes our focus on innovation and the quality of our product in the international market,” Mr Broomfield says. “And the enormity of the market means exciting growth potential for our products in the future.”
