Evander Direct have been commended for their innovative uPVC cleaning process that dramatically helps cut the need for replacement windows and doors that have been damaged in storms or fires.

Thousands of pounds are set to be raised for good causes in the electrotechnical industry at the upcoming ECA Gala Dinner and Annual Awards, which is being held in London this June.

During both the 2015 and 2016 events, almost £4,000 was raised for the Electrical Industries Charity (EIC) due to the generosity of many ECA members and associates, and other leading figures within the industry. EIC will again be the main beneficiaries of this year’s prize draw.

Data Centre World, London: Secure I.T. Environments Ltd has announced that it has achieved new internationally recognised quality management standards for “the design, construction and management and fitting out of data centres, including the infrastructure”. The newly accredited standards are SOHSAS 18001:2007 (ISO 45001), ISO 14001:2015 and BN ES ISO 9001:2015.

Egham: OKI Europe Ltd has launched two new wide format Teriostar multifunction printers designed to boost productivity in busy design, engineering and reprographics offices where deadlines are tight and time is money. The LP-1040MF and the LP-2060MF print at super speeds; up to 7 A1 size prints per minute and up to 9 A1 size prints per minute, the fastest in their class. Scan speeds of 240 mm per second and parallel processing of tasks also help accelerate workflow and both models feature the industry’s only user-replaceable process cartridges which means projects won’t get derailed by downtime.

ASDA SHOP FLOOR

CBES have installed IP access control systems from ACT at Asda stores and distribution centres across the UK. The roll-out has already covered 500 sites all of which are networked to Asda’s corporate headquarters in Leeds.

Jeremiah Grossman, Chief of Security Strategy, SentinelOne comments: "As I look at the way this story is unfolding, there are strong parallels between this and the Google Aurora attacks in 2010. Nation-state sparring continues playing out on private systems like Yahoo’s because they can provide a valuable source of intelligence on your opponent’s or other people of interest. Also, if you are a nation-state and want to determine if any of your spies have been burned, you put taps on Google, Yahoo, Microsoft etc -- not just the telecom networks. Of course, there is always the motivation to deanonymize political dissidents by oppressive regimes.
