VOICES FROM COUNTER TERROR EXPO 2010

The second edition of the Counter Terror Expo took off in London on April 14, 2010 with participants drawn from all sectors of the security industry across the globe to include also, decision makers, both nationally and internationally, allied industries, the broad security family in and around the world, other interest groups outside the security world – the public sector representatives, other private sector representatives, visitors, to name, but a few.

Counter Terror Expo 2010 LogoNever before has an event which is just in its second year drawn such a genuinely concerned and enthusiastic crowd. The long queue of people at the Olympia venue of the exhibition waiting to be vetted and ushered in surpassed that often seen in a new hit film and to the credit of Mr Peter Jones and his great team, the whole event was excellently managed.

Hear it fresh from some of the exhibitors as they made out time to talk about their products and the event.  After all, the proof of the pudding is in the eating.

Excerpts of their quotes as recorded by our editorial team led by JOHN ADUMA, editor, Vigilance -The Security Magazine

  • Columnists Bio Data

In conceiving the idea of a Guest Columnist section we are motivated by the urgent need to find lasting solutions to the various threats to global security by relying on expertise, experience and innovations of persons, institutions and organisations we can aptly regard as custodians of global security – those persons, institutions and organisations that are actively involved in security matters and contending for the liberty of mankind.

Among such include security experts, security advisers, managing directors/chief executive officers of security companies/institutions, intelligence experts, service chiefs, security chiefs, ministers in charge of security in their various countries, secretaries of state, UN Security Council chiefs, heads of UN Peace Keeping Force around the world, NATO chiefs, serving or retired, heads of governments/ex-heads of governments, diplomats and international civil servants with responsibilities for security in and around the world, academics, researchers, etc.

To these categories of persons and representatives of security institutions and organisations throughout the world, we invite you to be our Guest Columnists. Alongside your articles, we would like you to send us your bio data and a passport sized photograph.

  • Jobs and Training

In so short a time after the professionalization of the security sector, just as in other professions, it is now proving much, much easier to pass a camel through the eye of a needle than to get a job in the sector. It is therefore, the vision of Vigilance to help make it easier for all persons looking for jobs in the industry to get the right jobs and training without tears.

We want to make this portal a place where tears are dried up, where burdens are lifted and put an end to jobseekers’ nightmare, put a full stop to their worries, anxieties and associated trauma often experienced by jobseekers in searching for the right type of jobs.

We intend also, to help them sift the wheat from the chaff as far as job seeking is concerned by matching job seekers with the right jobs, help them write winning CVs, teach them the above average interview techniques and give them that wao factor for which employers are looking.

Similarly, employers will find through this portal no-nonsense security officers and other qualified, tried and tested professionals within the security industry.

Our promise: Jobs and training without tears, recruitment without tears....Your are hired!
